“How to work with the audience?” A meeting with Annelies Tyberghein
The Centre of Contemporary Art “Znaki Czasu” invites to an open meeting with Annelies Tyberghein of Belgian Amusee Vous organization, held in a series of discussions about contemporary cultural institutions.
On Thursday, 7 January 2010 at 6 p.m. in “Pokój z kuchnią” the guest will tell about the experience of Belgian art institutions and their cooperation with the local community. A contemporary art institution is a space based on the idea of what is public and therefore available to the public. It is a place oriented at exhibitions, but also research and educational projects. In addition to display rooms there we often find a bookstore, cafeteria, library and cinema. Today’s cultural institutions incline to think, educate, entertain, and can also be a space of relaxation.
What are the expectations of the guests, staff, artists, journalists and local government? How to create a place open to the audience and its needs? How to get to people not interested in the activity of the institutions of art and who believe its offer is unattractive? You are welcome to discuss this topic with the Belgian artist and educator Annelies Tyberghein and CoCA’s curator team.
Annelies Tyberghein (1984) — Belgian artist and coordinator of several cultural projects.
